This award presented by the Building Congress & Exchange honors and recognizes individuals within the construction industry for their exemplary skill and outstanding workmanship. Each nominated project is judged based on overall craftsmanship including the quality of work, complexity of both technical and design challenges and the level of difficulty with site conditions, constraints and time frame.

Public Building of the Year
The AIA Maryland Annual Design Award Competition presents this award for Excellence in Design in the Public Building of the Year category to Cho Benn Holback & Associates along with CAM Construction for the Harford Community College Student Center renovation project. The comments from the Jury were “Impressive transformation of a mundane building showing restraint and consistency of detail. It comes off with authority and completeness that one would envy in a building. Superb job handling a limited palate by subtle geometric shifts.”

The Baltimore Chapter of the American Institute of Architects presents this award for Excellence in Design of Our Daily Bread Employment Center. CSD Architects was recognized as the Architect, Catholic Charities as the owner and CAM Construction as the contractor. The award states: “Our Daily Bread Employment center is a depot for change-a great solution to a very difficult social issue. The architecture reinforces and supports the programs within, promoting the learning component for motivation. This proud and beautifully detailed building fits well within its context, and encourages people to respond to their sense of self and what they’re doing.”
